God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He is always there beside us no mater what.
Psalm 62:5-8 NIV Translation
Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.
He alone is my rock and salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken,
My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out you hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
OUR REFUGE, OUR ROCK
In school I learned that if the teacher repeated something especially if they repeated it several times, that meant that it was important. This chapter is the epitome of that idea, it repeats its core theme many times. God is our shelter our refuge. He is the one thing we can always cling to no mater what, our rock. He is our comforter and the one person in our lives who will never let us down. No mater how dire the situation or how frightened we are God is in control.
The truth is bad things happen. Challenges and hardship come into every life at some point. King David authored this during some very difficult trials in his own life.
I do not mean to make lite of this pandemic, it is a serious threat and has cost many lives. However that being said millions of people across this planet will die this year from cancer, accidents and murders. Plenty of people will be injured or become ill. Unfortunately bad things happen every day. The Bible never says that once your a christian every thing will be rosy, in fact it says the opposite. However the bible does say that no mater what, God is with us through all our trials. God’s love never wavers even when our faith in him does.
I urge every christian out there to pray. Pray for the lost, the sick , the medical workers, and pray for our leaders.
